Reports to: SC Compliance Manager
Primary Functions: Perform quality control reviews of Special Credits functions for policy and regulatory compliance, to include but not limited to collection/recovery portfol ios, systems security, financial and demographic transactions and adverse actions. Perform quality control reviews on critical third-party vendors to ensure compliance with contractual terms and applicable laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality review to ensure timeliness of collection and recovery routines and adherence to established credit union policy, procedures and practices and internal controls.
- Perform review of sample loans and overdrafts recommended for charge off to confirm they had reasonable collection effort and they meet policies, procedures and practices established for charge off.
- Responsible for quality review of timeliness of liquidation of repossessed collateral and that cost effectiveness and sales are within established valuation practices for collateral sales.
- Responsible for review of sample loan extensions, modifications and refinances to assure they meet esta blished policy, procedures and practices.
- Responsible for review of adverse actions to determine timeliness and cost effectiveness of actions.
- Review and recommend changes to Special Credits processes to ensure adequate controls are in place to reduce risk of employee malfeasance.
- Responsible for performing periodic system user audits.
- Prepare written reports for management upon completion of review to address exceptions and remedies as necessary to correct exceptions.
- Responsible for conducting quality reviews for critical third-party vendors to ensure: agreed protocols are followed; compliance with applicable laws and regulations; corrective actions are taken when needed; and efficient service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Three years of experience in consume r, credit card and real estate collection field including knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations.
Experience/Skills: Candidates must have experience acceptable to management in consumer, credit card and real estate collection fields. Applicants must have acceptable and demonstrated ability to be detail orientated for review of policy compliance issues and strong oral and written communications skills. Background in bankruptcy, attorney referrals/inquiries and court actions preferred.
Tenure: Assignment to the SC Quality Control Officer I category 12, SC Quality Control Officer II category 11, or SC Quality Control Officer III category 10 will be determined by the candidate's education or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate's certifications and/or performance.
