The Division of Retirement and Benefits is seeking a qualified individual to develop and provide training to its senior level counselors in the areas of: !
Legal responsibility of agents and representatives of the pension and health plans;
Overview of statutes, regulations, standard operating procedures, attorney general opinions and court cases affecting the pension and health plans;
Fundamentals of communicating complex concepts to an audience to promote maximum understanding;
Appeal fundamentals and processes;
Advanced fundamentals of plan provisions.
The position will also provide assistance to the Member Services Manager for implementation of new third party administrator contracts for the division's health plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience as a Retirement and Benefits Specialist II with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution:
Two years of experience as a Human Resource Specialist II, PFD Specialist II, Administrative Officer II, Budget Analyst III, or Accountant III with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhe! re.
