The Alaska Court System (ACS) is recruiting for a De! puty Clerk II within the Calendaring Division of the Anchorage Trial Courts. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the scheduling of District Court hearings, preparation and publication of the daily calendar, and review and scheduling of appropriate hearings. Specific duties include:
Schedule court hearings for criminal, civil, and small claims cases; schedule courtrooms for visiting judges and special events;
Maintain judges' schedules; prepare layout and publish daily calendars in a variety of formats for distribution to the public;
Process case files, conduct research and scheduling of appropriate hearings;
Assist court officers, staff, litigants, and the public with information related to court hearings and other events including case processing, judicial, and courtroom assignments;
Prepare judicial availability lists;
Set up laptop computer in the courtroom prior to hearings;
Conduct c! ourt tours for schools and other public organizations;
Assist in training of new employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience AND the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
