Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains acceptable account delinquency! levels for account assignments
2. Follows the collection policy and procedures to ensure all actions are being taken while educating the member on the importance of maintaining an account in good standing with the credit union.
3. Maintains a high level of professionalism, exhibiting good member service skills when dealing with delinquent members, attorneys, repossession agents, and other vendors in the collection of delinquent obligations
4. Educates other departments and members as to Credit Union policy and procedures to assist with maintaining an acceptable and positive department ISS rating
5. Identifies and initiates documentation necessary for refinancing of past due obligations
6. Refers accounts to management for repossession, legal action, or charge off
7. Initiates and prepares documentation necessary for payment extension requests
8. Establishes repayment plans to resolve outstanding obligations and follows up for payments based on r! epayment terms
9. Maintains accurate and detailed document! ation and notes of all collection efforts, both in writing and verbally within members file and on collection system software
10. Promptly responds to repayment proposals received from consumer credit counseling agencies or debt management companies
11. Assists in the collection of negative share account balances
12. Cross sells other products and services to assist with the monthly reduction in delinquency
13. Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Experience:
One year technical experience in field or related experience in a financial institution preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Office mobility required. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment. Corrected vision and hearing in normal range. A telephone device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Must be able to physically l! ift up to 35 pounds. May require use of handcart or other device for the transportation of materials.
Training:
- Completes Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union’s product assessment within 90 days of employment with a score of 100%. (Note: this assessment by be taken as many times as needed to achieve this score)
Knowledge of current regulations regarding collections, consumer lending documentation, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel software.

Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines.
