JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision this position is responsible for a variety of cler! ical functions related to ordering, receiving, issuing, invent! ory, and data entry on the Materials Management System.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (included but are not limited to the following):
Checks quantity and quality of items received against packing slips, freight bills, and specifications. Inventories and fills exchange carts as per established schedules. Inventories and fill PAR levels in specific departments. Assists departments in adjusting PAR levels as required. Inputs item issues, receipts, and returns on the Material Management System. Performs Materials Management System maintenance as authorized. Maintains storeroom in a neat an orderly condition and arranges space and shelving for incoming items. Receives, distributes, and disposes of hazardous materials as per proper procedures. Assists buyer as needed and notifies buyer when stock is low or out.
Participates as a member of CQI committee as assigned by Director.
Participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropr! iate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required
Ability to use accurate, clear and concise oral and written communication
Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Ability to explain procedures and requirements to the public and employees
Ability to critically think and analyze and communicate findings
Ability to work independently and perform assignments with minimal direction
Ability to operate a variety of automated office equipment such as personal computers, copy machines, calculators, fax machine, multi-line telephone systems, etc.
Professional Requirements
Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
Completes annual educational requirements
Wears identification while on duty
Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the facility
Minimum requirements (the following are minimal qual! ification necessary for entry into this classification)
Edu! cation: High school diploma or equivalent required License(s): None
Certification(s): BLS
Experience : One (1) year experience with stock or supply function, preferably medical supplies. Some computer systems experience required.
