This is a Temporary position NTE 120 Days.

MAJOR DUTIES:
·
The primary purpose of this position is to operate one or more types of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles typically having a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 32,000 pounds. Drives over public roads (or equivalent) in a full range of traffic conditions and at highway speeds to transport cargo. Also operates fork lifts to facilita! te cargo loading/unloading.

Drives tractor trailers and/or other vehicles typically having a GVW of more than 32,000 pounds
. Operates vehicles to transport supplies, materials, equipment, and/or tools.
·
Operates one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks
to facilitate loading and unloading duties.
·
Performs operator maintenance
, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.
·
Maintains records and documents actions
, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Hourly Rate: $26.21 - $30.60

EXPERIENCE:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C; (e.g. WG-5700 Mobile Industrial Equipment Operation Family, dated Apr 1991). Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which they are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evalu! ated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of over 32,000 pounds such as truck tractors with semi or full trailers, heavy load in-line trucks, or interstate motor coaches.
2. Knowledge of cargo handling and hauling and techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo.
3. Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle and fork lift operation.
4. Knowledge of operating one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lifts.
5. Ability to judge road/traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest and safest route, and meet pickup and delivery deadlines and schedules.
6. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. related to motor vehicle, fork lift, and power take-off unit operation ! and preventive maintenance.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

1. An appropriate, valid driverÂ's license is required for the position.
2. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
3. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
4. Shift work may be required.
5. May on an irregular basis operate passenger vehicles as required.
6. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to ran! dom testing for drug use.
Physical Effort
Physical effort is moderate to heavy. Work requires reaching, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Associated duties require stooping, bending, and climbing. Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier objects with assistance.
Working Conditions
Drivers work mostly outside and operate vehicles in all kinds of traffic and weather on public roads (or equivalent), and are exposed to the danger of serious accidents. Drivers are exposed to dirt, fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents when loading and unloading the vehicle. They drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems
