Kings Valley Charter School provides a rural, community-based education tailored to the individual needs and interests of each child, emphasizing the involvement of parents and the community.
The goal of the Kings Valley Charter School is to achieve academic excellence for all students through an individualized program. The environment at Kings Valley Charter School is designed to promote self-motivation, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
To assist those students who have difficulty making appropriate choices regarding their behavior at school (prek-12).
Hours: approximately 7 hours per day on all school days.
Duties include:
- Assist our Dean of Students and Director with the development and implementation of a school-wide behavior management program.
- Work with a small team to provide appropriate support to students.
- Maintain high standards and expectations for students.
- Assist our staff with related tasks as assigned.
- Recognize and carefully protect confidential information and maintain secure records as required by law and school policy.
- Work with students having special needs and/or possible aggressive behaviors (e.g., biting, kicking, hitting, emotional outburst, etc.).
Must have patience to handle student and parent needs and have experience with school-age children.- Must be able to work with multiple competing priorities.
- Must be computer literate (Gmail, google applications, word processing).
- Familiarity with office environment and working with a team.
- Ability to collect, record, store and use information and records to support school behavior management and attendance programs.
- Candidate will pass a criminal background check before beginning employment.
- High school diploma
- Strong knowledge in math and reading demonstrated by at least one of the following:
- one or more years of documented experience as an instructional aide
- two years or more of college education
- one or more years of relevant career experience
- passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
Physical demands:
- Persons performing service in this position classification may exert 50 to 75 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- This type of work may involve running, walking, or standing.
Desirable Specialty Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with students as an instructional assistant/teacher’s aide.
- Experience in special education
- MANDT/CPI/OIS training
Salary: Rate dependent on experience
