This recruitment is limited to current regular and partially exempt employees of the ACS and former employees who separa! ted within the last six months. A probationary employee must be continuously employed with the ACS for at least six months to compete in any internal recruitment process. An employee who separated in good standing within six months from the date of application, while holding a regular appointment in the ACS, may compete as an internal applicant. Exempt and temporary employees are not eligible to apply.
The Alaska Court System (ACS) is recruiting for a CMS Analyst in the Information Services Support Division. This is a long-term project position funded for a minimum of two years. Upon completion of the project, the selected applicant will have return rights to their previously held position in the ACS.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in order to develop, implement, and maintain trial court case management systems which include CourtView, TrakMan, and eAccess. Regular job responsibilities include:
Work with court ad! ministration, Department of Law, and Department of Fish and Ga! me to ensure accurate fish and game offense codes are entered in the CMS.
Analyze help desk calls from trial court staff to determine if fish and game offenses cited by Wildlife Troopers are accurate and should be entered into the CMS.
Update CMS when the Supreme Court signs a revised fish and game bail schedule.
Manage and submit to vendors' support desk any software bugs and document all information (outgoing and incoming) in Clientele.
Review quarterly software release notes; conduct extensive testing; determine when releases are to be used by ACS customers; document choices; set up application.
Review and conduct extensive testing to determine software modification and enhancement is developed as requested.
Work with trial courts to ensure transfers for new judicial assignments are performed timely; update judge code table and courtroom locations when applicable.
Provide backup CourtView application security to regularly assigned CMS analyst;! maintain and document user security, which includes case types, screens, and user profiles; this entails close interaction with Clerks of Court when setting up security for a new user.
Assist with other projects as needed.
Provide back-up code maintenance for event, docket and judge code tables; help train data entry staff when needed. NOTE: This vacancy may be filled as CMS Analyst I or CMS Analyst II depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant. Applicants who meet minimum qualifications and wish to be considered at BOTH levels must submit a separate application for EACH level via Workplace Alaska.
CMS Analyst I is covered by provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime-eligible at the training level.
Positions in this job class series are flexibly-staffed at salary ranges 14, 16, and 18. Progression to a higher level may occur when the incumbent: 1) successfully completes a specified training plan; 2) meets ! all other specified terms of the flexible staffing agreement; 3) meets ! the minimum qualifications of the higher level; 4) is certified by the supervisor as capable to perform at the higher level; and 5) is approved by the Human Resources Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate;
AND
Two years of advanced clerical or technical work experience with the Alaska Court System, a legal office, or a justice agency. The required clerical or technical work experience is met by service such as a Deputy Clerk II, Deputy Clerk III, Clerk of Court I, Clerk of Court II, Legal Technician, Administrative Assistant/Judicial Assistant, or Court Supervisor with the Alaska Court System, or equivalent experience with another employer.
OR
A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate;
AND
Two years of work experience in which a primary responsibility was the maintenance, administration, and operation of a case management system! .
