Process donated food items for meals according to sanitation requirements.
Maintains a high standard of sanitation in the kitchen area at all times.
Inspects catered food to ensure compliance with food regulations.
Ensures that Employees and Volunteers follow safe food-handling procedures prior to handling food
Assists with food purchasing, inventory management and vendors/suppliers program. This includes daily monitoring of staples and fresh goods for quality and re-ordering supplies in a timely manner with zero interruption to meal service delivery.
Maintains accurate inventory records.
Ability to develop and maintain good food service and proper food handling! techniques to meet all licensing and food service permit requirements.
Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
Ability to maintain clean and efficient work area.
Prepare kitchen and activity room for daily lunches.
Maintain clean laundry for kitchen.
Ability to maintain a high level of sanitation in the kitchen area at all times according to sanitation requirements.
Ability to maintain adequate inventory to ensure a high quality of uninterrupted services to clients.
Ability to accurately prepare and maintain documentation in a timely fashion.
Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
SCF programs are established for the purpose of serving a primary population comprised of Alaska Natives who are affiliated with the Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Natives and American Indians within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a th! orough understanding of the cultures and the needs of the CIRI members,! and of the general culture and needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians. Such knowledge is critical in order to ensure the achievement of the mission and vision of SCF: working together with the Native community to provide the best services with Native staff who value the family and family wellness as the heart of the Native community.
Must be 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED.
Current Serve Safe Food handling Certificate as issued by appropriate authority.
One (1) year experience working with food.
Working Environment:
- Employee may be exposed to: wet or humid non-weather (to 2/3 time); exposure to bloodborne pathogens (under 1/3 time); hazardous waste (under 1/3 time).
- Noise level: Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

- Additional physical demands: the employee is able to work under physically and emotionally stressed conditions.
